Differential Magnetoresistive Sensor ----Gear Sensor

. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:
The differential magnetoresistive sensor—Gear Sensor:SMRG-1 serial consists of a fair of semiconductor InSb magnetoresistive elemet and a permanent magnet. A change in the resistance of a semiconductive material when it is subjected to magnetic flux. It is very high magnetoresitive effect.It is made from semiconductor thin film technology. The SMRG-1 is encapsuled in a plastic or metal package。
As a magnetic material gear moves over the sensing surface, the magnetic flux distribution across themagnetoresistor varies. This causes SMR element resistance change and produces outputa signal synchronized to gear rotation. The count of signal’s peaks is equal to the number of gear teeth passing over the sensor.
